How will I receive my test?
The test will be mailed to your home address. You will receive a form that you will need to fill out as many spaces as possible, a pre-addressed, stamped envelope so you can send your test directly to the lab, a paper indicator card where you will place your hair sample, and a smaller envelope where you will place the paper indicator card with your hair sample. Finally, you will place the form and envelope with the sample inside the pre-addressed envelope and that's it - it's that simple!
How do I take my test?
1. Prepare hair for cutting
Wash hair with non-medicated shampoo.
Dry hair (air-dry or blow-dry).
2. Cut hair
Cut hair 4 to 24 hours after it's dry.
Comb and lift a section of hair at the nape of your neck. If necessary, secure the section with bobby pins or clips, or have someone hold it out of the way.
Cut as close to the scalp as possible.
3. Prepare hair sample
What the lab needs:
Sample no more than 1.5 inches/3.5 cm long
At least 125 mg (about 1 tablespoon) of hair
4. Prepare components for mailing to the lab.
